Core Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Nursing Director to oversee in-camp nursing functions and coordinate medical volunteers during various camp sessions.
  • Assist in the recruitment, interviewing, and vetting of volunteer nursing personnel and seasonal medical staff.
  • Conduct medical screenings for camper applications and ensure the accuracy of medical records in the camper/staff database.
  • Engage in camper placement processes, including medical assessments, family communications, and follow-ups regarding medical inquiries.
  • Establish connections with healthcare champions to promote awareness of the camp at events and conferences.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of medical team volunteers.
  • Manage inventory of medications and supplies, ensuring the medical facility is well-stocked and compliant with safety standards.
  • Distribute medical supplies and conduct equipment checks as necessary.
  • Participate in weekly meetings and collaborate on team initiatives as a proactive member of the Medical Team and Camp Operations Team.
  • Contribute actively to the SFCN medical community.
  • This position requires residing on-site during specific camp sessions.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of two years of experience in pediatric care.
  • Valid Registered Nursing License in the State of Ohio.
  • Current Driver's License.
  • PALS certification.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet management, and online communication.
  • Strong communication skills, both professional and effective.
  • Willingness to reside on-site during camp sessions.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Interest in maintaining part-time or PRN work in a hospital setting to keep skills sharp.
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to initiate projects independently.
  • Experience in a camp environment.
