Job Summary

The Material Handler will utilize a Clamp Lift Truck to transport goods from one location to another while exercising extreme caution to avoid damaging the items and positioning them safely and accurately.

Essential Duties:
  • Transport paper, printing materials, and other products from the Warehouse to the Press Line or Bindery Department.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Daily inspect and maintain equipment.
  • Use a handheld barcode scanner.
  • Operate a Shrink Wrap Machine.
  • Utilize a Slitter Machine.
  • Track inventory and complete warehouse tally sheets detailing material weight, size, and number of skids.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be dependable, reliable, and responsible in fulfilling obligations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot when equipment malfunctions.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with others.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations.
  • Capacity to follow instructions.
  • Proven ability to work independently and complete projects/work orders.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Willingness to work overtime as necessary.
  • Able to perform 12-hour shifts.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience operating a Clamp Lift.
  • Ability to interpret and apply various units of measurement and their conversions.
  • Mechanical aptitude required.
  • Logical thinking to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing while setting up and operating equipment.
  • Continuous bending, twisting, kneeling, and squatting.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds at times.
