Job Summary

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist functions as a Basic X-Ray Machine Operator (BXMO) with responsibility for operating X-Ray equipment for the purpose of diagnosing and treating patient disease/injury by the primary care provider.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for patient care
  • Provide necessary medical services to patients of Palms Medical Group (PMG) within his/her scope of practice in accordance with stated policies, procedures and protocols of PMG and Florida State Statute
  • Maintain the Electronic Health Record (EHR) with up to date documentation of services provided
  • Exhibit professionalism when greeting and escorting patients to X-Ray suite
  • Perform basic radiological procedures
  • Provide patient with digital disc of X-Ray if indicated
  • Responsible for inventory management
  • Maintain knowledge of inventory procedures and submit any order requests to the VP of Business Continuity & Client Relations and designated Clinical Care Coordinator
  • Maintain X-Ray suite, and order and restock radiological supplies
  • Maintain responsibility for the overall operation of the X-Ray suite
  • Maintain orderly and professional work areas
  • Responsible for administrative duties
  • Maintain X-Ray tracking logs
  • Observe and follow OSHA standards and PMG Infection Control/Safety protocol
  • Promptly fax orders to Doctor's Imaging Group along with patient encounter form before releasing the patient from the clinic
  • Assist the Clinical Care Coordinator Regional Manager or VP of Practice Management with data collection as necessary
  • Perform any other duty assigned by the Clinical Care Coordinator, Regional Manager or VP of Practice Management or CEO to improve the efficiency of PMG
Requirements
  • Must be organized, self-motivated and detailed oriented
  • Job duties require the ability to both work independently and as part of a team
  • May be expected to travel to and provide coverage for other PMG clinics during BXMO absences
Technical Requirements
  • Exhibit competency when utilizing the following equipment: Radiation Protective Equipment, Digital X-Ray, Image Receptors, Factor Selection, Copying Digital Image onto a CD, ECG, PFT, In-house hemoglobin, Lab centrifuge, AED, Autoclave, Vital Sign Machine, Nebulizer and accessories, Blood Glucometer, INR, In-house hemoglobin A1c, Oxygen tanks and accessories
  • Comply with job competencies and skill check-offs as part of annual evaluation
  • Expected to navigate and operate Microsoft Office suite products, including Word and Excel and demonstrate other basic computer proficiencies
Licenses & Certifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Current Basic X-Ray Machine Operators License (BXMO) in the State of Florida
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in Primary Care setting preferred
  • Current BLS (basic life support) Certification
  • CNA/LPN/RN
