About the Role
The Nursing Assistant (NA) plays a vital role in our long-term care team, providing resident-centered care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). As a member of our nursing team, you'll be expected to know and follow infection prevention and control policies and Personal Protective Equipment use.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance with basic health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and providing psychosocial support and other personal care to assigned residents.
- Assist residents with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements as appropriate, and create a positive dining experience.
- Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
- Communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
- Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
- Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational.
- Participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
Requirements
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
- Minimum age of 16.
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
