Grounds Maintenance Manager

Melwood is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our grounds maintenance team. As a key member of our horticulture team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of service delivery and maintaining the beauty and functionality of our outdoor spaces.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and supervise a team of grounds workers and foremen to ensure efficient and effective completion of landscaping and grounds maintenance tasks.
- Develop and implement schedules for routine maintenance, including lawn care, pruning, and fertilization.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any issues or concerns with the grounds, including pest control and plant health.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of timesheets and administrative paperwork.
- Act as the primary point of contact for emergency situations and incidents, and ensure prompt and effective response.
- Maintain accurate records of security, supply usage, and equipment maintenance.
- Attend training and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on industry best practices and advancements.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture, or a related field.
- Proven supervisory experience and ability to lead a team.
- Pesticide certification and ability to obtain security clearance.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and to perform physically demanding tasks.
The Site Supervisor will work primarily outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions and physical demands of the job. The ability to lift, carry, and push/pull heavy objects, as well as climb and balance, is essential for this role.
