This position collaborates closely with nursing staff to ensure patient safety and deliver fundamental care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Responsibilities may include constant monitoring of patients, reporting any changes in their condition, and intervening as necessary to uphold safety standards. Effective communication with colleagues, patients, families, and visitors is essential. You will perform tasks assigned by nursing personnel while adhering to established protocols.
Essential Qualifications
Preferred: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience
Preferred: Experience in a hospital or telemetry setting.
Certifications
Required: Valid Louisiana Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA).
Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) training is also required within 30 days of hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in computer usage, software applications, and web-based tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly to various audiences.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends and holidays.

Physical and Environmental Requirements
