  • Ensure quality customer care and service in all dietary-related operations
  • Supervise the work of assigned staff, ensuring all policies and procedures are followed
  • Monitor Dining Services employee schedules, and ensure the department is properly staffed
  • Assist in the kitchen, including with stocking and preparation, as needed during the week
  • Print meal tickets and deliver to residents
  • Give residents menus, discuss likes/dislikes, and make recommendations and/or changes to menus
  • Assist with cooking, dishwashing, distributing snacks, etc., as needed
  • Interact with residents regarding dietary issues when Manager is absent
  • Manage the working schedules of the Dining Services department
  • Work with "Tray Tracker" software and assist with relevant computer work, as needed
  • Assist in maintaining the department's budget
  • Assist Director of Dining Services in conducting staff performance appraisals
  • Remain on-call Monday through Friday and every other weekend
  • Perform all other duties as required or directed

  • Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
  • Experience: One (1) to two (2) years of related experience; supervisory experience helpful
  • Computer Skills: Experience with Tray Tracker software helpful; Must be able to proficiently operate a computer, the Internet, Microsoft Office and other relevant software, as well as basic office equipment
  • Certifications & Licenses: Serve Safe training required; Must obtain and maintain mandatory, state/federal requirements and certifications for practice or occupation
  • Other Requirements: Must be able to proficiently operate industrial kitchen equipment; Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills; Must demonstrate a high degree of patience, especially with residents and their families; Must be able to adhere to all terms and conditions set forth in the United Church Homes Employee Handbook
