CNC Equipment Maintenance Specialist II

Position Overview:
This role involves overseeing the preventive upkeep, diagnostics, and repair of various manufacturing machinery, including CNC-controlled lathes, machining centers, presses, and robotic welding systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems across all manufacturing equipment.
- Conduct thorough assessments by listening to, observing, and operating machinery.
- Analyze performance metrics to identify and diagnose problems.
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment using an array of hand and power tools.
- Identify and replace faulty components as necessary.
- Navigate around and within machinery, including working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Utilize diagnostic tools such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and precision measuring devices.
- Diagnose and repair CNC and PC-based control systems, including closed-loop servo systems.
- Interpret electrical schematics, technical manuals, and written instructions.
- Maintain and service air conditioning and refrigeration units on manufacturing equipment.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks, including lubrication of machinery.
- Enhance departmental skill levels by acquiring new skills and training colleagues.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial setting, specifically in the repair and maintenance of machine tools.
- Formal training in electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, or relevant experience is essential.
- Proficient in performing geometric alignments on machine tools.
- Consistently meet safety, productivity, attendance, and quality standards.
- Ability to manage multiple and complex tasks efficiently.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, including leading small groups to accomplish tasks.
- Possess strong reading, clerical, and computer skills; familiarity with SAP is advantageous.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Work Environment:
- Manufacturing plant setting with variable temperature and humidity, noise, and dust exposure.
- Potential physical hazards include powered vehicles, pedestrian traffic, machinery, live electrical circuits, sharp objects, and moving parts.
- Exposure to hazardous materials such as solvents, oils, and coolants.
- Flexibility to work extended shifts and adapt to changing workloads and priorities.
- Occasional travel for training purposes may be required.
- Regular lifting and positioning of parts weighing up to 25 pounds, with occasional weights exceeding 50 pounds.
