Project Manager for Transmission and Distribution

Job Summary:

Eversource Energy is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead the construction management and project coordination efforts for our transmission and distribution operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of construction field management activities, including contractor resources, to ensure the safe and timely completion of work meeting Eversource's quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the performance of all aspects of construction field management activities for transmission lines, substations, and complex distribution projects.
  • Work effectively with project managers, engineering, scheduling, contract administration, and other transmission business managers to provide support using contractor resources.
  • Select and oversee the development of construction representative staff.
  • Develop a mindset of ownership and employee accountability for outcomes and consistent level of productivity and quality of work.
  • Responsible for managing all aspects of the construction phase of projects relative to cost, productivity, schedule, best practices, and Eversource policies and procedures.
  • Act as construction manager on key high-risk/highly complex projects and provide executive-level status reports.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental programs, policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Direct efforts to achieve world-class excellence regarding safe work practices and safety performance.
  • Promote teamwork among and between all members of the transmission and distribution organizations in their jurisdiction and other internal groups.
  • Drive innovation and change in business processes.
  • Provide support to the organization in the director's absence.
  • Represent the director at department, customer, and community meetings.

Requirements:

  • Detailed knowledge of transmission construction.
  • Extensive knowledge of electric transmission and distribution systems, operations, and construction.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and construction projects.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding safety, construction, and industrial regulations.
  • Good human resource management and business planning skills.
  • Working knowledge of information technology and the use of Eversource's office automation and information systems.
  • Good written and oral communication ability.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. MS in engineering or MBA preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of ten years of experience, including a minimum of five years managing or supervising groups in transmission or distribution or related activities or equivalent. Demonstrated experience in working with construction contractors and managing large projects.

Compensation and Benefits:

Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The salary range for this position starts at $150,000 to $166,540 plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Licenses & Certifications:

Must hold a valid motor vehicle driver's license. Project Management Professional (PMP) desirable.

Working Conditions:

Must be available to work emergency restoration assignments as required. Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary. Work is performed primarily in an office environment, which requires sitting, standing, and general movement throughout the office area. Attends to problems off-hours and for extended periods.
