We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Lab Research Coordinator to join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining technical and procedural operations in the laboratory section, collaborating with supervisors, managers, and technical directors to ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement new or improved procedures and instrumentation, performing quality control and quality improvement assignments.
- Develop, write, and update procedures as requested, maintaining knowledge of current federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Assist in process development and improvement within the section, including participating in quality assurance, continuing education programs, and section meetings.
- Train new staff members and ensure staff is competent and educated regarding processes and protocols.
- Maintain a safe environment, reporting spills and hazardous situations immediately and acting appropriately.
- Deliver service excellence, One Team collaboration, and quality patient care through adjusting communication styles to adapt to various cultural differences.
- Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or a related field.
- Three years' experience in a similar laboratory setting.
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
- Effective organizational and communication skills.
- Strong computer skills to produce reports and graphs as needed.
The Clinical Lab Research Coordinator will work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, exposed to chemicals, medications, and biohazard waste. The position requires standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods, as well as lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.
