Clinical Psychologist

Job Summary:

Westhab is seeking a highly skilled Psychiatrist to join our team. As a Psychiatrist, you will provide clinical and medical services to ensure optimal quality care for our clients. You will work collaboratively with the program director and social services team to deliver health care services that are consistent with current medical practices and in compliance with regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities:

• Provide psychiatric reports, including mental status exams and comprehensive psychiatric evaluations.
• Offer short-term or time-sensitive treatment compatible with the shelter stay.
• Review client assessments to determine treatment progress, effectiveness, and appropriateness.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss client needs and develop treatment plans.
• Attend in-service training sessions and staff meetings to enhance growth and development.
• Liaise with hospital admission staff to advocate for and coordinate client admissions.
• Assist in implementing wellness and trauma-informed practices.

Requirements:

• Licensed in New York State.
• Experience in implementing evidence-based treatments, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
• Acceptable clearance checks for State Central Register and fingerprinting.
• Prior experience working with the homeless population, preferably in a shelter setting.
• Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish preferred.
