About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our dynamic manufacturing team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify and respond to signs of malfunction.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime, including cleaning and lubricating parts, replacing worn components, and testing machinery post-maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform necessary repairs swiftly and efficiently to minimize production downtime.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to understand equipment and controls.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures, including lockout-tagout, personal protective equipment, fall protection, and others as required.
  • Use welding tools to repair or replace parts as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work conducted, including preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Collaborate with other team members and communicate effectively to ensure smooth operations.
  • Diagnose faults in electrical systems and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a maintenance mechanic role within the manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrated skills in machinery maintenance and repair.
  • Proficiency in welding and the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve issues with a variety of equipment.
  • Thorough understanding of safety procedures and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance practices and their implementation.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and ability to diagnose and repair faults.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy machinery parts.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training in machinery maintenance or a related field is preferred.
