Logistics Support Associate

As a vital member of our logistics team, the Driver Helper collaborates closely with the Route Driver to facilitate the collection of waste and recyclable materials efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
To excel in this role, the individual must competently execute the following essential tasks, while also being open to additional minor responsibilities as assigned:
- Comply with all Waste Management Safety protocols and Life Critical Rules, as well as OSHA regulations and applicable local, state, and federal laws. Promptly report any unsafe conditions or service-related concerns to the Route Manager or Dispatch.
- Engage in all mandatory training sessions, briefings, and meetings as stipulated by Waste Management or directed by the Route Manager.
- Assist in the manual or mechanical loading and unloading of residential and/or commercial containers into the collection vehicle.
- Containers may be positioned curbside, dockside, or require carryout or pullout services to ensure effective collection.
- Operate hoisting equipment to lift and empty bins or containers into the truck hopper. Aid the driver during all backing maneuvers while on the route.
- Inform the Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage that occur during operations.
- Communicate with the Route Manager or Dispatch regarding service interruptions, including inaccessible streets or alleyways, overly heavy receptacles, or potential safety risks. Relay customer requests to Dispatch or the Route Manager.
- Execute all duties as scheduled by the Route Manager or Dispatch, and assist other drivers as needed to fulfill customer requirements.
Compensation:
Hourly rate of $17.00, with weekly pay periods.
