Role Overview:

The Specialized Educational Support Staff member will collaborate with individual students and small groups under the guidance of the Special Needs Director. This role is essential in assisting students by demonstrating the skills necessary to complete tasks, adhering to educational and behavioral plans, showcasing appropriate interactions with peers and staff, and addressing specific health care needs.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Modify classroom activities, assignments, and materials as directed by the classroom teacher to support and enhance educational objectives.

2. Engage in communication with educators and district personnel to assist in assessing student progress and implementing individualized learning plans.

3. Execute instructional programs and lesson plans under the supervision of the assigned teacher, covering subjects such as reading, mathematics, language comprehension, and writing.

4. Supervise individual and groups of students across various settings (e.g., restrooms, playgrounds, hallways, cafeterias) to ensure a safe and positive educational environment.

5. Record students' daily activities, including behavior and completed assignments, to maintain accurate logs of their progress.

6. Demonstrate appropriate social behaviors and interactions, serving as a model for students in a culturally sensitive manner.

7. Oversee students' daily schedules and behavior plans to maintain a supportive learning atmosphere.
