Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate policies and directives pertaining to wildland fire vehicles and associated facilities.
  • Oversee and provide expert advice on a national inventory of fire fleet assets.
  • Offer recommendations for vehicle replacement and facility upgrades as necessary.
  • Strategize funding, procurement, and construction initiatives.
  • Ensure that the fire fleet is maintained in alignment with the latest technological advancements.

Position Requirements

Employment Conditions

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Indian Preference regulations apply.
  • Documentation of eligibility is required (e.g., DD-214, BIA Form 4432, SF-50, etc.).

  • Successful completion of a probationary/trial period may be necessary.
  • A background security investigation will be conducted for all new hires.
  • Candidates must possess (or obtain within 30 days of starting) and maintain a valid state driver's license while in this role.
