Job Overview

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $17.50 to $24.63 per hour. As a full-time employee of UNC Health Care, you will be eligible for an extensive benefit package, including paid time off, accrued based on worked hours.

Job Description

This 36-hour-per-week position requires working 12-hour rotating shifts, with weekend and holiday rotations. You will be responsible for:

  • Assisting physicians and healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures;
  • Critically reviewing patient care documentation and reporting significant changes to registered nurses or physicians;
  • Providing various clerical tasks, such as organizing workload, greeting visitors, and transcribing physician orders;
  • Performing routine quality assurance audits, safety checks, and inventory of supplies;
  • Providing direct personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and vital sign measurements;
  • Reinforcing routine teaching given to patients by registered nurses or physicians and documenting patient understanding.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED);
  • Listed as a Nursing Assistant I by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Service;
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification;
  • Preferably six months of clerical or customer service experience;
  • Fluency in verbal and written English language.
