Job Overview

The Matrix Service is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to oversee craft employees for the aboveground storage tank and specialty vessel business lines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise craft employees to ensure efficient construction of projects.
  • Determine method of construction, safety procedures, and requirements.
  • Coordinate assigned work with different crafts, company departments, and/or other contractors.
  • Maintain liaison with safety department, engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure work complies with safety policies, drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Assist in resolving construction problems and safety issues as required.
  • Conduct accident investigations with safety department as required.
  • Monitor craft compliance with project safety program requirements.
  • Maintain liaison with other departments (Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, and Engineering) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc. support craft activities and project schedule.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as directed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 6+ years' experience in similar facility, including construction technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures; 1+ year's experience supervising craft employees.
  • 4-year engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • Experience working with aboveground storage tanks and specialty vessels is required.
  • Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.
  • Ability to supervise large groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize performance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; good computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
