About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team in Suffolk, Virginia. This full-time contract position offers a great opportunity for professionals looking to work in a school-based setting.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and diagnosing speech and language disorders in students, developing and implementing individualized education plans, and providing direct therapy services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough assessments of students' communication skills to identify areas of strength and weakness.
  • IEP Development: Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans that meet students' unique needs.
  • Therapy Services: Provide direct therapy services to students, including one-on-one and group sessions, to help them develop their communication skills.
  • Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor and document students' progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Active licensure in the state of Virginia.
  • Certification: Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous school-based experience is highly preferred, but not required.
