Position Summary
BLG LOGISTICS is seeking dedicated Team Members to contribute to their operational success. Team Members will undertake various responsibilities, including loading and unloading freight, order selection, packaging, and ensuring a safe working environment. The company is dedicated to providing cross-training opportunities to enhance the skills of its Team Members.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure reliable transportation to and from the workplace.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Operate according to established work instructions.
- Perform tasks such as loading, unloading, packaging, and labeling products.
- Maintain delivery vehicles and equipment in good condition.
- Communicate effectively with team members across shifts.
- Keep work areas clean and organized to promote safety and sanitation.
- Implement lockout/tagout procedures for equipment when not in use.
- Transport waste materials to designated disposal areas.
- Drive vehicles for the movement of materials.
- Ensure quality control and proper packaging of finished goods.
- Participate in physical inventory counts.
- Report to Team Leaders regarding delivery information.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Operate vehicles for the storage and removal of materials.
- Prepare and load materials for shipping.
- Track and record units of materials handled.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates should possess experience in general labor or related fields. Familiarity with warehouse equipment and a strong work ethic are essential. A high school diploma or equivalent experience is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
Basic computer skills, knowledge of vehicle maintenance, and an understanding of safety protocols are crucial. The ability to manage physical workloads and follow both written and verbal instructions is required.
Reasoning Skills
Utilizing common sense to execute instructions and resolve issues in standardized situations is necessary for this position.
Licenses and Certifications
A forklift operating license is preferred; however, on-the-job training will be provided.
Physical Requirements
This position involves standing, walking, and lifting or moving items. Specific vision abilities are required, and the employee must be capable of performing overhead tasks.
Work Environment
The work environment may include exposure to moving machinery, fumes, and noise. Safety measures are implemented to ensure a secure workplace.
