Job Summary

The Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Records Specialist 1 to join our team. As a Records Specialist 1, you will play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare files for imaging, including removing staples, repairing torn pages, and removing file clasps.
  • Retrieve files for customer viewing, requiring walking several hundred steps daily and climbing step stools/ladders when necessary.
  • Make copies and certify documents, if required, by removing documents from file folders and replacing them.
  • Answer phones and take messages, writing down information as needed.
  • Provide information to customers and other departments, accessing computers as required.
  • Scan documents as needed, including indexing and document linking responsibilities.
  • Assist in the warehouse area with storage, retrieval, and movement of files.
  • Perform related work as assigned or required.

Requirements

  • One year of experience in clerical work, which may include one year of customer service experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Assignment to work a variety of schedules, including compulsory work periods in special emergency and/or disaster situations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Florida Statutes, Rules of Court, and regulations pertinent to the area of assignment.
  • Ability to follow instructions in accordance with laws, regulations, and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of legal terminology, grammar, spelling, and math.
  • Knowledge of recordkeeping practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of automated office equipment, practices, and procedures.
  • Skilled in the operation of automated office equipment.
  • Skilled in the application of quality customer service.
  • Ability to follow instructions in accordance with laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Ability to provide information correctly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to type with reasonable speed and accuracy.
