Job Summary

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Atlantic Area, National Strike Force Coordination Center, Incident Management Assist Team, Logistics Department in Portsmouth, VA.

Responsibilities
  • Collecting, processing, organizing, and disseminating incident information relating to growth, mitigation, or intelligence activities taking place on the incident.
  • Developing and maintaining master charts and maps of the incident and maintaining these incident materials in the common area of the command post ensuring access by all responders.
  • Planning and preparedness activities may occur during steady-state operations to support contingency operations and planned events, and when deployed to support response operations in response to all levels of incidents and events.
  • Developing and maintaining the local common operating picture accounts (GIS, ERMA, etc) and conducting training for unit personnel in the use of each.
  • Improving CG-IMAT readiness by assisting operational commanders involved in national and regional large scale exercises with National Incident Management System (NIMS)/Incident Command System (ICS) oversight, support, training, or coaching as requested.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position requires a Secret clearance.
  • The position requires a valid state driver's license.
  • This position may require a one year probationary period.
Qualifications
  • Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the federal service.
  • Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, or abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
