Job Description

We are seeking a Habilitation Specialist to join our team in Sands Point, NY. As a Habilitation Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting consumers with their training goals, recreation, communication, and personal development goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing human guide and/or accompanying consumers during community activities
  • Facilitating/supporting in-house activities
  • Assisting with unplanned activities requested by consumers
  • Participating in consumers' EPMs when possible
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree or completion of two years of college (60 credits) in an education or health-related field
  • One year of experience working with blind, Deaf, DeafBlind, or severely disabled individuals
  • Knowledge of MS Office and Internet required
