Job Title: Registered Nurse Acute Care - General Surgery

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) with a passion for acute care and general surgery to join our team at Verovian Nursing Agency.

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse Acute Care - General Surgery, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing general surgery, from pre-operative assessment to post-operative recovery. You will monitor patients' vital signs, wound healing, and overall progress, ensuring that care plans are effectively implemented.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing general surgery, from pre-operative assessment to post-operative recovery.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, wound healing, and overall progress, ensuring that care plans are effectively implemented.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and other interventions as prescribed by physicians.
  • Educate patients and their families about the surgical process, recovery expectations, and post-discharge care.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Document all aspects of patient care accurately and promptly in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Respond quickly to changes in patients' conditions, providing critical care as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing surgical care outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Hampshire.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in acute care or general surgery nursing.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
  • Strong clinical skills in surgical care, including pre-operative and post-operative nursing.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
