About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our team in the medical business unit of a major Illinois manufacturer. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for developing new, complex processes and participating in product development projects within product groups as assigned by the management team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate current manufacturing processes and prescribe improvements
  • Participate in product development projects, completing project objectives as outlined
  • Develop and implement new processes and procedures to improve efficiency and quality
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution
  • Lead projects for customers in a one-off tool shop, including documentation of estimated cost versus actual cost
  • Manage day-to-day orders with customers and suppliers
  • Quote work for customers

Requirements
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD (preferably SolidWorks)
  • Experience working in an injection molding environment and improving processes
  • Knowledge of working with customers; reviewing prints and engineering documents to quote projects and run manufacturing programs
