Millwright Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Millwright to join our team at West Fraser. As a Millwright, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing industrial equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair and maintain industrial equipment, including conveying systems, machine centers, and other machinery
  • Read and understand technical drawings and instructions
  • Work safely under pressure and take initiative to resolve issues
  • Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, and other equipment
  • Adjust tension on nuts and bolts, and position parts using hand tools and measuring instruments
  • Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, and other tools
  • Assemble and install equipment using hand tools and power tools
  • Replace defective parts and adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts
  • Level bedplates and establish centerlines using straightedges, levels, and transits
  • Dismantle machines using hammers, wrenches, and other hand tools
Requirements:
  • 3 years of Millwright experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Cutting torch experience (Oxygen/Acetylene) and welding experience (GMAW and SMAW)
  • Safety-oriented and compliant with ZES
  • Willing to work rotating shifts, overtime, and be on-call to support 24/7 operations
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check
