Job Summary:

The Auto Appraiser will be responsible for conducting virtual inspections of vehicle damage, preparing written repair cost estimates, and negotiating cost-effective repair figures according to Company guidelines and State regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform virtual inspections of vehicle damage as part of the claim adjusting process
  • Prepare written repair cost estimates, applying Company guidelines and State regulations
  • Negotiate cost-effective repair figures according to Company guidelines and State regulations
  • Process total loss estimates and evaluations through virtual inspections
  • Compare loss description to estimate of damages
  • May be required to perform physical inspections at a drive-in location or in the field occasionally

Requirements:

  • Typically has 1-3 years automotive-related and/or appraisal experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
  • MA Appraiser license is a bonus
  • Must be flexible with respect to work scheduling issues or changes that may arise unexpectedly due business needs or demands
  • Possesses strong customer service skills and behaviors
  • Ability to negotiate skillfully in difficult situations with both internal and external groups
  • Familiarity with one or more Collision Estimating systems (CCC, Mitchell, Audatex)
