Job Summary

Amergis is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for assessing students' communication skills, developing treatment plans, and providing speech and language therapy to students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess students' communication skills for the purpose of identifying communication disorders, determining program eligibility, and developing recommendations for treatment.
  • Collaborate with various groups and/or individuals for the purpose of communicating information, resolving issues, and providing services in compliance with established guidelines.
  • Coordinate meetings and processes for eligible students, including testing/screening, IEPs, parent conferences, pre-referral staffing, and other related activities.
  • Develop treatment plans, interventions, and educational materials for the purpose of minimizing the adverse impact of communication disorders in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Instruct eligible students in the use of appropriate communication technologies, such as hearing aids, FM systems, and augmentative communication devices.
  • Maintain files and/or records, including progress reports, activity logs, billing information, treatment plans, and required documentation.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars, including training, IEPs, team meetings, and other related activities.
  • Provide speech and language therapy to students for the purpose of minimizing the adverse impact of speech and language disorders on student success.
Requirements
  • Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) licensure in the state of assignment is required.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) is preferred and may be required by state/contract.
  • Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice is required.
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable is required.
  • Current CPR certification is required if applicable.
  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray is required if applicable.
  • Current Health certificate is required per contract or state regulation.
  • Meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site is required.
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required.
  • Computer proficiency is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
