Job Summary:
The Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) serves as a patient advocate and supports veterinarians in delivering high-quality medical care. This role involves leading and mentoring team members in both operations and patient care.
The CVT must possess strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and clients, along with keen attention to detail and organizational capabilities.

- Administer patient care under the supervision of a veterinarian.
- Accurately document all relevant medical, client, and case-related information in patient records.
- Review medical records, estimates, or discharge instructions with clients.
- Address client inquiries regarding basic animal care and routine procedures; confidently direct medical questions to veterinarians when necessary.
Qualifications:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: -Must possess and maintain an active state license, certification, and/or registration as a veterinary technician (LVT, CVT, RVT, or LVMT). This is mandatory.
-Minimum of 1 year of experience in the veterinary field is required; additional experience is preferred.- Proficiency in a range of skills, including laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental, and nursing skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations and manage a fast-paced environment.
- Capability to stay focused and efficient during medical emergencies.
- Skill in administering SQ, IM, and IV injections.
- Knowledge of common prescription drugs, including usage, dosage, and side effects, with the ability to explain them to clients.
- Understanding of anesthesia and recovery processes, with the ability to alert veterinarians to changes in symptoms or concerns with hospitalized patients.
- Competence in properly extubating, monitoring temperature, and recovering patients from anesthesia.
- Strong reasoning, memory, mathematical, and language skills (reading, writing, and speaking English) are essential for performing duties effectively.
