Job Summary

Tanner Memorial Clinic is seeking a skilled Radiology Practical Tech to join our team. As a Radiology Practical Tech, you will play a critical role in preparing patients for radiologic procedures, operating equipment, and ensuring the highest quality images for diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, including positioning and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Operate radiological equipment, including x-ray machines and fluoroscopy units, to produce high-quality images.
  • Review x-ray orders for accuracy and completeness, and contact physicians as needed for clarification.
  • Assess situations and exercise judgment to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  • Maintain accurate records, including daily log books and monthly reports, and perform quality control checks on equipment.
  • Act as an agent to obtain pertinent information for physicians to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
  • Clean and maintain equipment, and report any issues to ensure prompt repair.
  • Prepare patients for fluoroscopy procedures and assist with arthrograms, obtaining consent and explaining procedures to patients.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Radiology Practical Technician course and Utah state exam for RPT.
  • Utah State Radiology Practical Technician License, completion of all tested sections.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently during urgent care hours.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
Performance Requirements
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and organization services.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
  • Knowledge of proper ionizing factors for radiological diagnosis.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA.
  • Knowledge of systems such as EMR, Novarad, and EPM.
Work Environment

Radiological unit, with exposure to disease and radiation.

Mental/Physical Requirements

Standing six to eight hours per day, walking, stooping, and bending. Requires ability to move equipment and transfer patients.
