About the Role

The Senior Data Security Analyst position at MD Anderson Center is a critical resource that contributes to the development, implementation, and maintenance of the institution's information security technologies, standards, workflow, and processes in collaboration with the Data Governance, Legal, and Compliance teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement recommendations and mitigation strategies to address ambiguous data security issues and emerging technologies.
  • Counsel interdepartmental personnel on institutional information security policies, regulatory compliance issues, security best practices, and provide training as required.
  • Provide data security guidance to inter-departmental and cross-functional work groups to ensure successful integration of and exposure to security policies, procedures, data collaborations, risk assessment process workflow, and supporting processes.
  • Contribute to departmental continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Support ongoing partnership with the Sourcing & Contracts performing software review/clear to purchase for vendor contracts, rider 114 & 118 review/clearance process workflow, IRB protocol study review/clear to activate, and OneIS interdepartmental collaborative partnership aimed at continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide SME support for automating CAB readiness reporting in RSA GRC platform and CAB.
  • Support facilitation and coordination of continued partnership development with the OPR & IRB towards research information security program initiatives and protocol study infosec review/clearance process workflow.
  • Actively contribute to the departmental OneIS - Anderson Award Goals.
  • Participate in, or facilitate, department or service line process improvement or an OneIS division process improvement initiative.
  • Contribute to RM process improvement initiative focused on Risk team customer service.
  • Contribute to the departmental metrics development initiative and success.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Five years of information security or data security experience, to include experience in multiple security domains.
  • Preferred Certification: Security +, CRISC, CISSP.
  • Focus area of data security and Archer experience.
  • High value data assets experience.
  • Data governance experience.
