Job Title: DOT Driver

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious DOT Driver to join our team at Total Safety. As a DOT Driver, you will be responsible for driving a commercial truck and various trailers to pick up, haul, and unload equipment and supplies to and from job sites and customer locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Refers to safety and operations checklists to ensure compliance with each trailer type and follows checklists before each haul.
  • Completes DOT and company-required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provides timely delivery and pick-up to and from designated customer locations.
  • Inspects equipment for damage and/or excessive wear and notes accordingly.
  • Complies with current DOT regulations, including timely qualification renewals, equipment and cargo security inspections, electronic logging devices, and other required transport documentation.
  • Completes all documentation associated with delivery and pickup in a timely and accurate manner and obtains signature from customer.
  • Performs basic maintenance and care of assigned vehicle and/or trailer.
  • Performs pre-trip, post-trip, and ad-hoc equipment inspections as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) on all commercial motor vehicles and trailers.
  • Assists others in facility, including stocking shelves with clean, tested, and ready to use equipment and pulling, staging, and loading customer orders onto trucks for delivery.
Requirements:
  • At least 12 months of verifiable DOT driving experience within the last three (3) years.
  • A valid DOT medical examiners certificate with a minimum of 3 months prior to expiration.
  • Be insurable for Total Safety vehicle insurance while driving the company truck.
  • A satisfactory driving record meeting all requirements of the FMCSR and company policies.
  • Minimum of manufacturer field level training and certification in respiratory and instrumentation.
  • Valid driver's license from state of residence and valid proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Commercial driver's license per requirements of facility class A, B, or C with HAZMAT endorsement.
Working Environment:

The DOT Driver will work in a variety of environments, including shop, yard, traffic, and customer locations. The job may require frequent exposure to wet, humid weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
