Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at KSB Hospital. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for performing phlebotomy procedures on both inpatients and outpatients, as well as providing general receptionist services for the laboratory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform phlebotomy procedures on inpatients and outpatients
  • Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of laboratory glassware
  • Provide general receptionist services for the laboratory
  • Assist with distributing pathology reports and logs to nursing stations, doctors' boxes, medical records, and other appropriate locations
  • Provide secretarial support to the Pathologist and Laboratory
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an approved phlebotomy course or one year previous experience in a hospital/clinic setting
  • Maintain current BLS certification
  • Required to have current Illinois driver's license and be able to demonstrate proof of adequate vehicle insurance when working or traveling for KSB business
  • One year of experience with phlebotomy and knowledge of EKGs preferred
  • Must be a proficient typist. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Computer literate.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent

Wears ID Badge at all times. When lifting heavy items always use proper lifting techniques. Addresses Employee/Patient incidents promptly, identifies and mitigates risks, follows Hand Hygiene guidelines, medication reconciliation (if applicable), and ventilator use (if applicable) all in accordance with KSB policies.
  6. Teamwork - Works well with other members of his/her department to promote a team effort for the good of the department's functions. Recognizes and rewards success.
  7. Required In-Services - all applicable required in-services have been completed for the evaluation year.
Compensation

The offered pay rate will be determined by education, experience, and equity with current team members. The range is $15 to $20.86.
