Job Overview

OBJECTIVE

Support the upkeep and repair of building infrastructures by executing various tasks as outlined below.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct routine maintenance, diagnose issues, repair, install, and evaluate systems including but not limited to automated feeding mechanisms, freshwater systems, recycling systems, cooling cells, ventilation units, controllers, and animal housing facilities to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Utilize a range of tools from standard hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical testing devices.
  • Adhere to work orders and specifications to identify machinery and equipment that require replacement, repair, or maintenance.
  • Perform welding tasks on building equipment including load-out chutes and fabrication of certain housing or gating structures.
  • Must be available on-call for urgent situations.
COMPENSATION:

Hourly Rate: We provide a competitive hourly wage based on your skills and experience related to this role.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Technical degree or higher, or a high school diploma or GED preferred; or one to three months of relevant experience or training; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions and work orders. Proficient in writing simple correspondence.
  • Capability to apply mathematical concepts to practical scenarios.
  • Ability to interpret various instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license, have an acceptable motor vehicle record, and be able to pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical card.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 100 pounds, and sometimes push or move up to 300 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this position, the employee may work near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to airborne particles and gases at low concentrations. The employee is often exposed to waste materials, feed, and dust.
