Physician - Emergency Medicine

The physician is responsible for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of health problems presented by patients. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and cultivate positive and productive working relationships with other Corewell Health personnel, promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, compassion, collaboration, clarity, curiosity, and courage.
- Demonstrate a commitment to service and distinctive, personalized care with both internal and external customers, striving to exceed customer expectations.
- Assist in meeting operational, financial, and patient satisfaction goals, ensuring timely completion of all specific competencies and annual organizational mandatories.
- Assess and monitor the medical needs of patients, providing quality medical services in a cost-effective and appropriate manner, and ensuring coverage of case load at all times.
- Communicate regularly with patients' families, referring physicians, specialists, nursing staff, and other hospital departments regarding the plan of care and treatment of patients.
- Document medical services in the patient's medical record in a manner consistent with hospital, payor, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in on-call and weekend coverage, as required by the Department, and participate in value-based reimbursement programs and quality initiatives.
- Participate in Quality Improvement (QI) / Quality Assurance (QA) and peer review activities, as requested, and assist in the development of policies and procedures related to medical practice and quality patient care.
- Support patient participation in clinical trials and research projects, assess clinical safety and efficacy data, consistent with Research Institute policies.
- Provide oversight, teaching, and mentorship of fellows, residents, APPs, and students, and others providing services to patients, including meaningful participation with the affiliated medical schools, as requested.
- Doctorate degree
- LIC-Physician (MD) or LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) license in the State of Michigan
- CRT-DEA Registration in the State of Michigan
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) or CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
