Hospice Nurse - End-of-Life Care Provider

We invite applications from dedicated and compassionate individuals to fill the position of Hospice Nurse at Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC). As a Hospice Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients and their families during their final stages of life.

Salary Range: $40.68 - $62.37 per hour

About the Role

The Hospice Nurse is a critical member of the interdisciplinary team, working closely with physicians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care to patients and their loved ones. Your expertise and compassion will enable you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans, taking into account medical, emotional, and spiritual considerations.
  • Deliver expert nursing care, focusing on symptom management, pain control, and maintaining dignity throughout the dying process.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless coordination of services and effective communication with patients and families.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and care provided.
Requirements

To succeed as a Hospice Nurse, you should have:

  • Active MD nursing license and current registration with the Maryland Board of Nursing.
  • Two years of experience in hospice or palliative care, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and empathy with patients and families.
  • Knowledge of universal precautions for infection control and commitment to maintaining a safe environment.
