Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Parachute Rigger to join our team at TRAX International. As a Parachute Rigger, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of technical functions on parachutes and aerial delivery equipment, including inspection, repack, repair, modification, malfunction analysis, sentencing, procurement, and fleet management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Rig, prepare, and inspect Air Delivery Platforms (ADPs) to include Heavy Equipment (HE), Container Deliver System (CDS), Low Cost Low Altitude (LCLA) CDS, Joint Precision Airdrop System (JPADS), Extraction Line Panels, and Door Bundles
  • Maintain combat off-load platforms
  • Inspect, clean, store, repair, and pack cargo/extraction parachutes and extraction line panels
  • Provide loading and off-loading of equipment and material onto trucks, k-loaders, forklifts, and pickups
  • Drive trucks, k-loaders, forklifts, and pickups
  • Rig supplies, equipment, and vehicles for airdrop
  • Recover airdrop training platforms and equipment (parachutes, parachute bags, dropsondes, and extraction line panels) from Drop Zone (DZ)
  • Drive off-road, all-terrain vehicles with recovered material in DZ
  • Fabricate and assemble airdrop platforms, cushioning materials, and rigging components
  • Load, position, and secure supplies and equipment within aircraft
  • Offload supplies and equipment from aircraft, using Method A and B
  • Test and install extraction and release systems
  • Inspect cargo and personnel parachutes and other airdrop equipment before and after each use, during packing and rigging, and at prescribed intervals to determine serviceability
  • Repair or replace airdrop equipment
  • Use and maintain machines and tools for fabrication, modification, and repair of parachutes and other airdrop equipment
  • Inventory, clean, receive, store, and issue all airdrop equipment used in airdrop operations
  • Inspect, test, and install extraction and release systems
Requirements
  • Proficient in shop mechanics and science
  • Promote Company values, policies, and standards of conduct
  • Customer-oriented and ensure professional coordination with Operations and other base agencies
  • Ability to work day shift, night shift, or weekend duty as required
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Certified Rigger preferred but not required
  • Ability to attend Rigger's Course at Fort Gregg-Adams, VA
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly developed analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Working Conditions

The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment and in outdoor weather conditions. Must be able to view computer monitor for periods of time. Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted. Must be capable of frequent squatting, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and standing while performing duties. Must be able to traverse over uneven terrain and climb ladders and stairs safely.

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
