Maintenance Specialist

The Alaska Department of Corrections is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Generalist to join our team at the Wildwood Correctional Center in Kenai, Alaska.

As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities by performing a variety of tasks including:

• Maintenance and repair of plumbing, electrical, and appliance systems
• Installation, repair, and maintenance of interior and exterior structures
• Grounds maintenance and snow removal
• Vehicle maintenance

In addition to these responsibilities, you will also supervise inmates and direct them in various repair projects throughout the facility. This may include tasks such as carpeting, floor tile installation, painting, installing wall fixtures, and relocating furniture.

We are looking for candidates who possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Knowledge of building and construction principles, carpentry, and mechanical systems is highly desirable.

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
