Position Title: Internal Medicine Physician (MD/DO)
Position Overview: As an Internal Medicine Physician at Petaluma Health Center, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive primary medical care in a supportive and collaborative environment. You will engage in various strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing our clinic's growth and program development. Your primary focus will be in an outpatient clinic setting, with responsibilities that include after-hours calls, weekend clinics, supervision of PA/NP staff, and collaboration with external healthcare facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient histories and physical examinations, order necessary diagnostic tests, and implement appropriate treatment plans for patients aged 16 and older.
- Manage admissions, evaluations, diagnoses, and non-surgical treatments for patients in skilled nursing facilities and hospitals, adhering to clinical training and privileges.
- Seek consultations for complex cases outside your expertise or unfamiliar conditions.
- Maintain effective communication with patients, providing education and respecting their cultural needs.
- Demonstrate a commitment to competency and quality care that meets or exceeds community standards.
- Participate in peer reviews and uphold the clinic's quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure comprehensive after-hours and weekend coverage for clinic patients.
- Oversee PA's and FNP's, ensuring compliance with established procedures and regulations.
- Offer expert consultation for adult patients with intricate medical issues.
- Facilitate continuing medical education sessions for providers at least biannually in internal medicine topics.
- Contribute positively to clinic efforts aimed at enhancing patient satisfaction.
- Strive to meet productivity goals to improve patient access and financial sustainability while ensuring high-quality care.
- Adhere to scheduled commitments by arriving punctually and fulfilling your shift requirements.
- Be open to performing additional duties within your scope of practice as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Engage in medical staff meetings and other clinic gatherings.
- Maintain all necessary credentials, including California Medical License, DEA licenses, CME hours, and CPR certifications, ensuring they are current.
- Be willing to take on other duties as required within your professional scope.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited residency program.
- Board Certified MD/DO with a valid California License and DEA registration.
Licenses and Certifications:
- California Medical License or Osteopathic Physician License.
- Federal DEA Registration.
- Board Certification or Eligibility in a specified medical specialty.
- Commitment to ongoing CME as required for certification renewal.
- Current CPR/BLS Certification.
Language Proficiency:
Bilingual in English and Spanish, both written and verbal, is preferred.

Salary Range: $227,000 to $275,065. Note that this compensation does not include potential relocation assistance, sign-on bonuses, or additional incentives.
