Job Summary

Cambria is seeking a skilled ESL Instructor to join our team as a part-time occupational English teacher. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to teach English to employees who are non-native speakers, with potential for full-time placement in the future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver engaging ESL classes to increase employees' English skills and support job performance.
  • Use provided curriculum to guide English instruction and supplement with additional resources to meet individual student needs.
  • Administer standardized reading and listening tests to gauge student progress and determine placement.
  • Use formative assessments to inform instruction and encourage learning, growth, and development amongst participants.
  • Communicate daily with managers and supervisors regarding student class times, absences, and make-up classes.
  • Record attendance manually and electronically for each class.
  • Participate in weekly department meetings.
Professional Development
  • Obtain CASAS proctor certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance practice and improve student learning.
  • Maintain all Cambria-learning requirements.
Classroom Management
  • Maintain accurate and timely classroom records, including attendance and assessment scores.
  • Maintain student materials within the classroom.
  • Update and print attendance sign-in pages weekly.
  • Maintain classroom manipulatives and other materials.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 2-5 years in an educational setting.
  • Systems: Proficient in Google Suite and Zoom.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience learning a language.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively on a small team.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Experience applying adult learning theory.
  • High-level attention to detail.
  • TESOL/TEFL/CELTA certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience with CASAS preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Travel Requirements

Limited to subbing at local sites in the surrounding area.
