Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team at TVS Supply Chain Solutions North America. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating material handling equipment to receive, store, and distribute materials, parts, and supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate material handling equipment (forklift) to maneuver racks, containers, pallets, and crates.
- Move, locate, relocate, load, unload, and stack material in assigned areas.
- Perform routine daily equipment inspections and escalate issues.
- Gather finished orders for movement to outbound shipping areas.
- Ensure product is labeled and free of damages, overages, and shortages.
- Accurately complete all related paperwork.
- Adhere to quality and customer service standards set forth by the company.
- Observe and comply with all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure that materials loaded to be transported are properly stacked and secure.
- Perform housekeeping tasks such as sweeping and removing scrap, pallets, cardboard, etc.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a forklift in a busy warehouse environment.
- OSHA-endorsed forklift certification or ability to become certified.
- Must be 18 years old or older.
Work Environment:
This job is performed in a busy warehouse environment with high forklift traffic. Warehouses are subject to seasonal temperatures. Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and vests are required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The associate may occasionally be required to lift 51 pounds, anything greater than 51 pounds requires assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
