Veterinary Technician
Department: Animal Care | Reports to: Veterinary Manager | Non-Exempt
ROLE SUMMARY:
Support the Veterinarian in assessing and treating animals, managing medical records, and delivering health information to pet owners. Duties may differ based on location and position level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote a values-driven culture
- Deliver exceptional medical services to animals
- Gather patient history and conduct preliminary assessments
- Assist Veterinarian during examinations and medical procedures
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and perform diagnostic assessments
- Inform pet owners about animal health
- Execute various medical tasks under supervision
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in veterinary technology
- Preferred certification as a veterinary technician recognized by the state
- Understanding of veterinary methods and protocols
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Capability to manage confidential information with care
Physical Requirements:
Regular use of computers, walking, and lifting items up to 30 lbs. The work environment may include handling stressed animals.
