Certification Requirements- BLS Certification: Mandatory
- Vascular Experience: Required
- Facility: Porter Hospital
- Employment Type: Travel Ultrasound Technician
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Work Schedule: Days, 9 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with afternoon rotation and on-call duties
- Graduate from a JRCERT accredited radiologic school
- Registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography, or registry eligible with successful completion within six months of employment
- Preferred certifications include ARRT(S), ARDMS (RDMS), and post-primary Sonography certifications in areas such as Abdomen, Breast, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Pediatric Sonography
- Must hold a valid State License as a Radiologic Technologist
The Ultrasound Technician is responsible for providing essential diagnostic services to both inpatients and outpatients under the supervision of a Radiologist, adhering to departmental protocols. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting abdominal, pelvic, gynecological, obstetrical, and transvaginal sonograms
- Performing small parts imaging (thyroid, breast, scrotum) and ultrasound-guided procedures such as biopsies, drainage, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and aspirations
The Ultrasound Technician must maintain a current state license as a general radiographer and/or be a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS). This role is crucial in ensuring timely and accurate diagnostic imaging services.
