Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team at UnitedHealth Group. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide routine patient care, including administering medications, immunizations, and other patient services.
  • Assist in simple office and minor surgical procedures.
  • Support the education of patients and families as directed by physicians.
  • Perform venipuncture under the direction of a physician or advance care practitioner.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
Requirements
  • High School graduate, GED or equivalent.
  • Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification or registration or the ability to obtain the designation within 180 days of employment.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers (AHA) or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross) or the ability to obtain within 30 days.
  • Proven phlebotomy skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant or related experience in a medical setting.
  • ICD-9/10 and CPT coding experience.
  • Microsoft experience.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) language proficiency.
