About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team at the GN Group. As a key contributor to our Video product lines, you will be responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing key features on embedded systems with Android and/or RTOS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design, develop, and implement Android framework enhancements for leading SoC based platforms.
  • Software Optimization: Enhance, optimize, maintain, and lead Android and Kernel software development.
  • High-Performance Engineering: Develop high-performance and real-time audio and video streaming stacks.
  • Hardware and Software Exploration: Explore latest hardware and software architectures and build proof-of-concepts for next-generation products based on latest Android distributions.
  • Project Management: Contribute to team-based projects and manage individual project deadlines and deliverables.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: 5+ years with an MS/BS degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  • Programming Skills: Strong programming skills in Java and/or C/C++ on SoC.
  • Android Experience: Experience with any of the Android APIs like Camera2 API, gRPC, AIDL, ALSA, JNI, and HAL level programming.
  • Embedded Software Development: Enhance, optimize, maintain, and lead Embedded and Kernel software development.
Preferred Qualifications
  • System Architecture: Experience with SOC system architectures, especially familiar with bus protocols like MIPI, I2C, I2S, USB, HDMI, and SPI.
  • GPU and DSP Programming: Experience in programming in GPUs and DSPs.
  • Advanced Image Processing: Adaptation, optimization, and implementation of advanced image processing algorithms on SIMD processors, DSPs, and GPUs using OpenCL or CUDA.
  • Android Appliance Management and Security: Android-based appliance management and security.
Compensation and Benefits

Depending upon experience and location, the target annual base salary for this position can range from $100,000.00 to $200,000.00. In addition, you may be eligible for a 10%-15% discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end. Compensation for roles at GN depend on a wide array of factors including but not limited to location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
