Job Title: Plumbing Laborer Apprentice

We are seeking a skilled laborer in the Plumbing field who has an ambition to potentially become a plumbing apprentice, and ultimately a licensed Journeyperson Plumber.

Job Summary:

As a Plumbing Laborer Apprentice, you will assist with installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in residential and commercial buildings. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities:
  • Assemble, install, maintain, and pressure test all pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.
  • Determine sources of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as indicated or according to work orders.
  • Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, toilets, water heaters, water softeners, etc.
  • Receive and complete work orders.
  • Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates.
  • Maintain accurate records on material and labor used.
  • Maintain inventory of Adams tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.
  • Respond to emergency calls as needed.
Requirements:
  • Some experience with plumbing in a commercial and/or residential setting
  • Excellent customer service and sales skills
  • Knowledge of plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
  • Some post-high school education from college, trade school or military

  • The ability to read, interpret, utilize and train on manuals, schematics and control circuits related to Plumbing systems
  • Technical aptitude with knowledge of local plumbing codes and an ability to use resources at hand to find solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments
  • Good computer technical skills:
  • knowledge of and proficiency in common office applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook and general software navigation.
  • Possess a strong personal desire for improvement;
  • Have a clean, neat and professional appearance; a top performer who can instill pride of workmanship in himself and in others
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and background
  • Ability and willingness to work non-standard schedule: nights, weekends and holidays as/if required
Physical and other Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand, bend, twist and lift more than 70 pounds periodically throughout the shift and occasionally 70 pounds.
  • Must be able to pass a lift test
  • Must be able to pass a drug test
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
