About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Machinist to join our team at Power Design. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating state-of-the-art equipment, including CNC Fiber Laser, Press Brake, Iron Worker, Laser Welder, Paint Booth, and Oven. Your expertise will be essential in performing sub-assembly operations, assembling final products, and supervising our machinists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare work required from project drawings, assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists.
  • Gather parts and sub-assemblies from templates, standardized drawings, or specific project drawings.
  • Assemble components according to templates, specified measurements, or specific drawings.
  • Examine connections for correct fit, fasten and assemble components into the finished product.
  • Document all activities by completing production and quality forms.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Lead the team and assist in training others in basic assembly tasks and equipment operations.
  • Inspect all work and ensure it meets Quality Control Standards before progressing it on to the next operation.
  • Assist Plant Manager with scheduling and layout of work required to meet project deadlines, as well as inventory control.
Requirements
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of experience working on laser machines, press brakes, welding, or other metal machining equipment.
  • Experience operating a press brake machine used to bend and form steel required for end product (Piranha Press Brake experience a plus).
  • Experience setting up and operating the CNC 12KW Fiber Laser machine to cut sheet metal and copper required for product (Piranha Laser Experience preferred but not required).
  • Experience reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and bill of materials.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Experience with Electrical Equipment Fabrication.
  • Ability to physically perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Working knowledge of electrical codes, UL specifications, and other construction safety requirements.
  • Experience with Electrical Switchboard fabrication, Delem DA66T Graphical CNC Control, CycCut, and Hypertherm ProNest LT software preferred.
