Job Summary:

Fike Corporation, a rapidly growing international manufacturer of pressure relief, explosion protection, fire suppression and detection equipment, has an opportunity for a Product Inspector position. Fike is a privately held business with over 400 employees locally & over 1,200 employees worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform accurate dimensional and visual inspection of components, final assemblies, purchased products, tooling or cylinders by utilizing the appropriate tolerance based inspection equipment.
  • Read and interpret documents such as drawings, work order instructions, inspection plans and specifications.
  • Verify products are in conformance with all engineering requirements, work order specifications and instructions.
  • Conduct in-process and courtesy checks for production and conduct in-process inspection auditing.
  • Perform accurate inspection on various thread types, i.e. NPT, NPTF, UNF, BPT, API, using Go/NoGo ring gauges and specifications.
  • Complete and document inspection records, i.e. 1st Article reports, Dimensional reports, LAT documents, etc. on the computer using various software programs and inspection instructions.
  • Interpret and perform inspections on GD&T dimensions.
  • Record non-conformances of products or documents and forward information to appropriate personnel.
  • Learn to use advanced inspection equipment; i.e. CMM, optical comparator.
  • Adhere to safety practices and procedures.
  • Follow procedures as defined by Fike policies, procedures, ISO9001 requirements and others as applicable.
  • Adhere to the Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) policies and procedures related to NIST and complete all required CUI Awareness training.
  • Perform visual and dimension inspections of welds in accordance to specifications.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or a General Educational Development Diploma (GED).
  • Three years or more of inspection or machining experience.
  • Intermediate troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, work orders instructions, inspection plans and various specifications.
  • Experience in utilizing precision measuring tools, (i.e. micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.).
