Mechanical Project Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Manager to join our team at Penn Technical Staffing. As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the successful delivery of detailed mechanical design packages on medium to large scale capital projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead project design efforts from a mechanical/HVAC perspective from concept design through start-up
  • Mentor and develop young engineers
  • Develop overall Conceptual and Basis of Design level design approaches and documentation
  • Design central utility plant systems and overall equipment layouts
  • Develop Mechanical/Utility equipment and construction specifications
  • Perform temperature/humidity control/utility load calculations
  • Develop airflow and piping diagrams
  • Develop ductwork plans
  • Develop hydronic and steam piping plans
  • Develop building management system (BMS) control philosophy and Sequence of Operations
  • Perform construction assistance in the form of submittal reviews, RFI responses, and field visits to verify construction of mechanical scope is executed per the intent of the design and assisting in start-up of systems when required
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 15 years of experience required, much of this preferably in a design firm setting
  • PE registration required
  • Commissioning and verification experience a plus
  • LEED Accredited Professional preferred
