Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the City of Oneonta Police Department as a full-time Police Officer. You will be responsible for providing professional, effective, and compassionate law enforcement services to the community. As a Police Officer, you will work closely with other departments to achieve our mission of ensuring public safety and well-being.

Responsibilities:
  1. Patrol assigned areas to maintain public safety and prevent criminal activity.
  2. Respond to emergency situations, including calls for assistance and crisis interventions.
  3. Collaborate with other departments to share intelligence and best practices.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Two years of experience in law enforcement (or related field).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Annual salary: estimated $40,000 - $50,000 based on 2080 hours/year at $18.65-$20.87/hour.
