About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Psych Tech to join our team at Turning Point Centers. As a Psych Tech, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals struggling with substance use disorders and other mental health issues.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct client intakes and assessments to identify individual needs and develop personalized care plans
  • Maintain healthy boundaries and provide emotional support to clients
  • Rounds and document client location, activity, and mood to ensure their safety and well-being
  • Facilitate recreational and non-clinical groups to promote socialization and engagement
  • Transport clients off-site in a 15-passenger van, ensuring their safety and comfort
  • Supervise and participate in off-site recreational activities, promoting a sense of community and connection
  • Manage medication and perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Write detailed documentation and use online-based client medical records systems to track progress and communicate with team members
  • Complete verbal hand-offs from shift to shift, ensuring seamless communication and care
  • Manage emergency situations, de-escalate clients, and escalate situations to clinical and medical providers as necessary
  • Conduct room searches, bag searches, and safety inspections to maintain a secure environment
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 21 years old or older
  • Active and valid driver's license without DUIs or serious moving violations within the last 3 years
  • Must be able to pass a federal background check through the Department of Human Services
  • Preferred: Minimum 1 year working in a treatment setting
